The Acentos Foundation is a Bronx-based organization dedicated to the development, discussion, and dissemination of poetry and literature by Latino/a writers in New York and beyond.  It is the organizational arm of the Acentos Bronx Poetry Showcase, a twice-monthly reading series featuring Latino/a writers.

Over the last five years, the series has spotlighted a consistent diversity of work presented by Latino/a poets across the nation, work that defies the easy generalizations of "ethnic poetry."

As we move into the future, the Foundation is expanding its footprint into the areas of online publication, workshops, and public presentations.  The Acentos Review publishes work by emerging and established writers of Latin@ descent four times a year online;  our free podcast, "Acentos Live," features live readings of poems, music, and current interviews with Latin@ poets, recorded from the Bruckner Gallery in the South Bronx.  The reading series continues every second and fourth Tuesday, as it has since March of 2003, in conjunction with

the louderARTS Project and the Bronx Council on the Arts.
